Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Superintendent to lead and oversee field operations for large-scale commercial construction projects. The Superintendent will be responsible for managing on-site activities, ensuring quality, safety, and schedule adherence while fostering a collaborative environment. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and exceptional communication skills to deliver projects that meet or exceed client expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all field operations, from initial mobilization through project completion and closeout.
- Lead daily coordination of subcontractors, suppliers, and on-site personnel to ensure smooth workflow and schedule adherence.
- Serve as the primary point of contact on-site, addressing issues and making decisions to keep the project on track.
- Develop, monitor, and adjust construction schedules to meet deadlines and milestones.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to resolve conflicts and avoid delays.
- Conduct daily and weekly site meetings to review progress and address challenges.
- Ensure all work meets quality standards, specifications, and contract requirements.
- Conduct regular site inspections to verify compliance with plans, safety regulations, and quality standards.
- Identify and resolve construction issues promptly to avoid rework and delays.
- Enforce strict adherence to company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
- Conduct daily safety briefings and site inspections to maintain a safe working environment.
- Investigate and report safety incidents, implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Manage manpower, equipment, and materials to optimize efficiency and minimize costs.
- Monitor and report on resource utilization and project performance.
- Assist in identifying and procuring necessary materials and equipment.
- Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Work closely with clients, architects, engineers, and project managers to ensure alignment on goals and expectations.
- Communicate project updates and field conditions clearly and effectively.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors and vendors.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of daily activities, site conditions, and project progress.
- Provide regular progress reports to the project manager and senior leadership.
- Assist in reviewing and approving subcontractor invoices and change orders.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in commercial construction, with 5+ years in a superintendent role.
- Proven ability to manage large-scale, complex construction projects.
- Deep knowledge of construction methods, materials, and best practices.
- Strong understanding of scheduling tools (e.g., Primavera, MS Project) and project management software (e.g., Procore).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with local building codes, safety regulations, and permitting processes.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with LEED-certified or sustainable construction projects.
- Certifications such as OSHA 30, First Aid/CPR, and other relevant credentials
